Cartoply vs Acuity Scheduling (2026): An Honest, Feature-by-Feature Comparison
We built Cartoply. This page is our attempt to compare the two tools honestly — including where Acuity is the better choice. Updated May 2026.
What is Cartoply?
Cartoply is scheduling software built for field teams that need to route bookings by geography. When a customer books and enters their address, Cartoply automatically matches them to the rep or technician covering their area and shows that person's available times.
On top of territory routing, Cartoply handles booking pages, Google and Outlook calendar sync, round robin distribution, Stripe and PayPal payment collection, and automated confirmations. There is a free plan for individuals and a Pro plan at $7/seat/month for teams.
Cartoply is built for HVAC companies, roofing contractors, pest control companies, field sales teams, and any organization where which person handles the booking depends on where the customer is.
What is Acuity Scheduling?
Acuity Scheduling (owned by Squarespace) is appointment scheduling software built primarily for service businesses: coaches, consultants, therapists, tutors, photographers, salons, and similar single-practitioner or small-team service providers. Its strengths are in the booking experience: detailed intake forms that collect client information before the appointment, package and gift certificate sales, subscription-based service plans, and a polished client-facing booking interface.
Acuity is priced by the number of calendars (staff members), not per seat. Pricing starts at approximately $20/month for one calendar and scales to $34/month for up to 6 calendars and $61/month for up to 36 calendars. Acuity does not offer territory-based routing — it routes bookings by service type and staff availability, not by customer location.

Where Cartoply wins
Territory-based routing
Cartoply's core capability is something Acuity doesn't offer at any price: routing each incoming booking to the right rep or technician based on the customer's address. For a 10-tech HVAC company or a 5-rep roofing company, this is the entire dispatch problem. Acuity routes by staff availability and service type — it doesn't know or care where the customer is located.
Built for field teams
Cartoply's org-level features — shared territory maps, team availability dashboards, rep assignment logic — are designed for the workflow of a field team with geographic coverage areas. Acuity is designed around individual practitioners and small studios, not multi-rep field organizations covering different parts of a city or region.
Free plan available
Cartoply has a free plan with up to 3 booking types, calendar sync, and email confirmations — no credit card required. Acuity offers a 7-day free trial but has no ongoing free tier. For teams that want to test before committing, Cartoply is accessible at zero cost.
Simpler per-seat pricing for growing teams
Cartoply's pricing scales predictably at $7/seat. Acuity's tier structure means you may pay for capacity you don't use. For teams with 5+ people, Cartoply is typically cheaper — and includes territory routing that Acuity doesn't offer at any price.
Where Acuity wins
We're being honest here. Acuity has capabilities Cartoply doesn't have today, and for the right use case, it's the stronger product.
Intake forms
Acuity's intake forms are significantly more advanced than Cartoply's. You can collect detailed client information before the appointment — health history, project briefs, consultation questionnaires — and attach it to the booking record. For therapists, coaches, consultants, and other service providers where client intake is part of the workflow, Acuity's form capabilities are purpose-built for this. Cartoply's intake fields are basic.
Package, bundle, and subscription sales
Acuity lets you sell appointment packages (e.g., 10 coaching sessions), gift certificates, and subscription plans directly through the booking flow. Customers purchase a package and then book sessions against it. Cartoply handles per-booking payments but doesn't support package sales or recurring billing plans. For businesses that sell multi-session engagements, Acuity's payment infrastructure is more appropriate.
Square payment processing
Acuity connects to Stripe, PayPal, and Square. Cartoply connects to Stripe and PayPal. If your clients pay through Square or you process other business payments through Square, Acuity offers broader payment flexibility.
Zapier and integration ecosystem
Acuity has a Zapier integration and a public API, allowing custom workflows and connections to hundreds of tools. Cartoply's Zapier support is on the roadmap. If your booking workflow needs to trigger downstream actions in other tools, Acuity can handle this today.
Custom branding
Acuity's paid plans allow custom branding on booking pages — your colors, logo, and domain. Cartoply doesn't currently offer white-labeling. If a fully branded booking experience is a requirement, Acuity has the advantage today.

Frequently asked questions
Is Cartoply cheaper than Acuity Scheduling?
It depends on team size. For a solo practitioner, Acuity's single-calendar plan (~$20/month) is more expensive than Cartoply Pro ($7/seat/month). For teams of 5–10 people, Acuity's flat-rate Growing plan (~$34/month) may be comparable to or cheaper than Cartoply on a pure cost basis — though Cartoply includes territory routing that Acuity doesn't offer at any price. For larger teams, Cartoply's per-seat model scales more predictably.
Does Acuity Scheduling have territory-based routing?
No. Acuity routes bookings by service type and staff availability. It has no concept of a customer's physical location or which staff member covers a given geographic area. For businesses where routing by territory is the core requirement, Acuity doesn't solve that problem. Cartoply's territory routing is the primary reason field teams choose it over Acuity.
Can Cartoply replace Acuity for a coaching or consulting business?
For basic scheduling — booking links, calendar sync, automated reminders — yes. For intake forms, package sales, or subscription billing, Cartoply is not a full replacement today. If your scheduling workflow depends heavily on intake forms or multi-session package sales, Acuity is the better fit. If you primarily need a clean booking link with optional payment collection, Cartoply handles that well.
What does Acuity have that Cartoply doesn't?
Acuity's strengths over Cartoply today: advanced intake forms, package and subscription sales, Square payment processing, Zapier integration, API access, and custom branding. These are meaningful advantages for intake-heavy or package-based service businesses. Cartoply's roadmap includes custom branding, Zapier, and CRM integrations — but these aren't available yet.
Who owns Acuity Scheduling?
Acuity Scheduling is owned by Squarespace, which acquired it in 2019. It operates as a standalone product alongside Squarespace's website builder. If you use Squarespace for your website, Acuity integrates natively with it.
How long does it take to switch from Acuity to Cartoply?
About 15–20 minutes for a standard field team setup: connect your calendar, create your event types, draw your territory zones, and replace your Acuity booking links. If you're coming from Acuity with complex intake forms or package plans, those features aren't replicated in Cartoply today — account for that before switching. Past client records stay in Acuity.
