For mobile mechanics

You cannot quote a job you know nothing about. Ask before you drive.

Cartoply makes year, make, model, and symptom required fields on the booking form, collects the diagnostic fee before the van rolls, and shows the next available time to a customer who is comparing you against the shop down the road.

  • Required intake: year, make, model, mileage, symptom, and photos
  • Diagnostic fee or deposit paid at booking via Stripe or PayPal
  • Instant booking shows the soonest opening — no call-back queue
  • Territory routing and drive-time buffers keep the van’s day sane

Built for wrench-in-the-driveway work — diagnostics, brakes, batteries, pre-purchase inspections, and fleet accounts.

Show up with the right parts

A wrong-parts trip does not cost you a part, it costs you the whole slot. Intake questions capture the vehicle, the symptom, when it started, and a photo or engine-code screenshot, so you order before you drive.

The diagnostic fee is paid, not promised

Charge the diag fee or a deposit on the booking form. The card is authorized when the slot is held and captured on confirmation — and if someone else took the slot first, that customer is never charged.

Win the customer who is shopping around

Instant booking replaces the calendar with a plain list of the next available times. Someone stranded in a parking lot picks a time in ten seconds instead of waiting on your call-back while they dial the next shop.

Days that survive contact with traffic

Drive-time buffers are enforced on both sides of every job, minimum notice keeps someone from booking you 15 minutes out, and per-day caps stop a day from stacking up more work than one van can finish.

How it works

  1. Build a service per job type

Diagnostic, brake job, battery, pre-purchase inspection — each with its own duration, fee, and vehicle questions.

  2. Set your area and your buffers

Draw the ZIPs or radius you actually cover, then add the drive time you need between stops.

  3. Take bookings that are already qualified

The customer pays, answers the vehicle questions, and lands on your calendar. You leave knowing the car and the complaint.

Frequently asked questions

Can I require the vehicle details before someone can book?

Yes. Add up to 10 required intake questions per service — year, make, model, mileage, VIN, symptom, plus a photo upload for a dash light or a leak. The booking cannot be submitted without them.

Can I collect the diagnostic fee up front?

Yes. Stripe and PayPal both work, and payment is authorize-then-capture: the amount is held when the slot is secured and captured once the appointment is confirmed. Full refunds are one click from the dashboard.

What if I only cover part of the metro?

Territory routing hides availability outside your area. Customers enter an address first, and if you do not cover it they never get to a booking form — and you can see where the uncovered demand is coming from.

How do I stop someone booking me across town in 20 minutes?

Minimum notice sets the earliest a customer can book, drive-time buffers protect the gaps around each job, and per-day caps limit how much work lands in one day.

Can Cartoply sequence my day for me?

That is the optional Dispatch add-on, priced per mechanic seat. It orders the day using real road drive times inside your work hours, buffers, and territories, then shows you the proposed route to review before it commits anything to the calendar.

Right parts, paid diag, booked while they are still deciding

Put the vehicle questions and the diagnostic fee in front of the appointment, not after it.
